Sad to say but Danny passes away been hanging out at Southwick for years good place to hang out at going to miss dannyįriendly people, good food and I like the fact that they dont seem to be catering to a certain type of crowd
dont expect anything fancy just pub food and neighborhood friends. about 12 pool tables and cool game machines. Try the house special burger it is worth the trip. If you like to shoot, the tables are a bit slower than others, but the environment is clean and the other patrons are engaging and fun. Food is good (especially the fried shrimp). The friendly staff are always on their `A` game when we go to South®ock. I will give it two stars because the pool was cheap and the sweet potato fries were pretty good. Aka, not bringing food out 30 minutes late, and not sitting at our table griping while we sit and listen and let our food get cold, and especially not hitting on my married father. Sorry, but only good, "professional" service deserves tips.
Employees if you are reading this, this is why we didnt tip. We felt that after this very poor service, no tip was deserved, which we got a good scowl for. After we finished the meal, a bus boy took our plate after we had specifically asked him not to multiple times because we were still snacking on the appetizer. Talked about hoping to see him back in here and becoming a regular, the whole while her hand never leaving his back or shoulder. She stood up finally, but then remained at the table, and quite obviously to everyone at the table, hit on my dad. She sat there for quite a long awkward moment complaining. She then proceeded to complain about how people expected a server to be "professional" as she sat in my dads seat while he had gotten up to put his pool stick away. She just said she would discount the price of the appetizer we ordered (Discounted it $2). We asked since he now had a sandwich, if he could have a side of fries or something since the sandwich wasnt that large. When we pointed out the mistake, she said something along the lines of "What really is the difference between the chicken fried steak?" and didnt attempt to correct the order. My father, a decent-sized man ordered the chicken fried steak, but received a chicken fried steak sandwich brought out on a snack plate.
The food took about 40 minutes to actually get to our table. While playing pool was cheap and fun, the service was not good.
